Akiko dowsing in Boscawen-un stone circle
Looking for ley lines in western Cornwall in August 2002.
In case any of you are wondering what dowsing and ley lines are, here is
what my dictionary says:
- dowsing - to search for underground water or minerals by observing the motion of a pointer, supposedly in response
to unseen influences.
- ley line - a supposed straight line connecting three or more ancient sites, sometimes regarded as the line of a
former track and associated by some with lines of energy and other paranormal phenomena.
You can sense the scepticism dripping off the page - I love the repeated use of 'supposedly'. Don't be put off by the Oxford bookworms.
Take it from me. You can trust Wally. I am a firm believer. My gran showed me how to dowse when I was a nipper, and if she believed in it, that's good enough for me.
