Get off here for Itabashikuyakushomae

Try reading it out. Itabashikuyakushomae. Bit of a mouthful, isn't it? Where do you put the breaks in? Are there any breaks? This is an actual sign at an actual station on the Mita Line in Tokyo. It was not created using Photoshop. Scout's honour.

What does it mean? Itabashi is the name of one of Tokyo's 23 ku (wards or boroughs as they are called in London). This station is just in front of (mae) the Itabashi ward office (kuyakusho).

Golly gosh! I can hear you say. Well, I never! Knock me down with a feather!

As Chris Tarrant always used to say, "It's only easy if you know the answer." Well now you do.
