Morvern Callar
The story
The story takes place in the north of Scotland. It is winter, coming up to Christmas.
Morvern Callar is the heroine of the story. She lives with her boyfriend. One day she
finds her boyfriend dead. He has committed suicide. Morvern decides to hide her
boyfriend's dead body in the mountains. She finds a letter from her boyfriend on
the desk.
She sends a story written by her boyfriend to a publisher in London. She says
she wrote the story and it becomes a bestseller. She quits her job in the
supermarket and goes to Spain for six months.@
When Morvern finds she is pregnant, she decides to return to her hometown
because she has no family or friends in Spain.
