Graduation thesis

This page is for those fourth-year students who wish to write a graduation thesis under my supervision. The deadline for submitting the thesis is not until in December, but I strongly recommend that students start work at once. I suggest you go to the library and see what books there are on the subject you are planning to write about. Also, if you have Internet access, use a search engine (such as www.google.com) to see what material you can find.

We had our first meeting on the 27th January 2003. I told students they should read at least two or three books during the spring vacation, writing down the following details:

• the author, publisher, and title of the book
• the year of publication
• any quotations that strike you as particularly interesting (and their page numbers so you can find them again easily)
• the main ideas in the book

Our next meeting will take place on Monday April 14th at 12.30pm in my room on the 8th floor. If any student cannot come on that day for whatever reason, please let me know (by email) before then.
